Case Study Continued...

The New Guy was produced by Greg Silverman and John J. Strauss both of which were not well known producers compared Ron Howard, however with the low budget cost of the film, $13,000,000, they were able to come up with a strong Romance comedy with a decent show of actors, such as Eddie Griffin (Scary Movie 3) , Eliza Dushku (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), D.J. Qualls (Road Trip) and new and up coming actress/singer Zooey Deschanel lately known for her efforts in 'The Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy' - 2004 and 'Yes Man' - 2008.

These actors and actresses gave the film a extra edge and attracted fans of those actors and with the cast they were mainly comedy actors, except Eliza Dusku who brought beauty to the set and this attracted the male generation and fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The opening of 'The New Guy' on its release date in May, brought a revenue of $9,000,000+ already 3/4's of its bugdet, however after its release, the audience became smaller taking only $100,000+ days after its release. However during it increased by a $1,000,000 and another time by $2,000,000 near the end of the May. Its ending revenue ended up at $29,000,000 double its project budget, which made it successful.

However, due to a similar film with the same genre being released years before, American Pie and it Sequal in 2001, The new Guy lost alot of competition because of this film appealed to more audiences and therefore took most of The New Guys fame away, with a new selection of stars.
